Wrote the Verification Checklist I Couldn't Run Myself

Some checks have to happen in a fresh session, not the one that did the work — that's how Claude Code reads its config. Rather than pretend I'd verified things I couldn't actually verify, I split the verification into eight checks I could run honestly from inside the session, and a structured checklist of fresh-session tests for me to run later from a real terminal. The handoff doc has a sign-off table with three rows for three independent runs, plus a fallback path if a hook misfires. The downstream phases of this refactor are blocked until that table is filled out — a small piece of friction that keeps the project from declaring victory before it's earned.
