Closed a Search Asymmetry: Updated Documents Now Become Searchable Immediately
Discovered that creating a fresh document made it instantly findable in search, but updating one left the new content invisible until a background job ran later — sometimes hours, sometimes longer if the job had stalled. Tracked the asymmetry to a deliberate decision from a year ago that addressed a real concurrency problem but left the user-facing gap unresolved. Restored the symmetry by mirroring the working pattern from the create-document path, placed at exactly the right point in the operation to avoid re-introducing the original concurrency issue. Smoke-tested in an isolated sandbox before letting it touch production data. Verified the previous incident's root cause stays fixed.
