Stress-tested both memory systems against the original blueprint they were built from

Held the personal knowledge stack up against the canonical reference design that inspired it and asked the harder question: is the engineering paying off, or has it outgrown its own usefulness? Three layered analyses produced concrete numbers — at the corpus size the iOS-expert use case requires, retrieval cost on the bespoke wiki scales linearly with vault size while the database-backed search stays flat. The wiki's synthesis layer adds value when comparing across sources but actively hurts accuracy for canonical reference material that already exists in authoritative form. Surfaced ten genuine improvements over the reference design worth keeping, alongside seven pieces of engineering that compensate for self-imposed constraints. The output is not more code — it's a decision-gated next session and a thirty-day moratorium on new memory-system infrastructure. Sometimes the highest-leverage move is to stop building.
