Pressure-tested the second brain against a peer product and scoped the next phase
Used the second brain to do its first piece of real intellectual work: a head-to-head feature comparison against a published competitor product. The system answered the question correctly with full citations after reading only four files — roughly 1/50th the cost of the build-mode work that put the corpus there in the first place. Daily-use economics validated. The comparison surfaced four genuine gaps worth porting (note-taking with graph integration, spaced-repetition review, queryable from outside clients, deep-linking to specific moments inside captured video transcripts) and three to ignore (block editor — solved by community plugins; in-browser augmentation — out of scope; social features — irrelevant for personal use). All of it folded into a runnable phase-2 brief that the next session can pick up cold and execute, with structural changes prioritized over cosmetic polish per direction.
